Extracurricular Activities

John Wister Elementary School is proud to offer our students some interesting choices in after-school programs.

WISTER ENRICHMENT

The Wister Enrichment program is an after school program that incoporates our Art program, the local Boy Scouts organization, and homework help from teachers.  Students who enroll in our program stay after school to participate in scheduled activities with Melissa Thomas, our art teacher, or to participate in the Boy Scouts program.

AFTER-SCHOOL VIDEO DOCUMENTARY CLUB

                        WHYY's Craig Santoro

This year, we are pleased to offer a new technology-based after school program to WIster students in the 5th and 6th grade. The School District of Philadelphia and local PBS affiliate WHYY have partnered to offer this new extra-curricular program. In our new film-making club, students will work with camera equipment and video editing software to produce an original documentary program. Students will do the filiming, and plan the production of the video from start to finish.  For more information about video productions by students, visit WHYY's Learning Lab website.

Permission Forms

FORMS FOR FIELD TRIPS are usually sent home with students prior to any scheduled trip.
