Our school offers a wide variety of academic programs including after school programs as well as ongoing projects.
Academic Programs:
Data driven instructional programs drive the Individualized Education Programs (I.E.P.’s) and daily lessons for all pupils at Widener memorial School. A system of individually selected goals and objectives based on the Core Curriculum and/or Life Skills Curriculum, are taught with rigor and high expectations to all pupils. We believe that every Widener pupil can achieve at proficient levels. Our instructional program includes detailed lessons in all subject areas across all grades.
We are proud to have obtained Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for two years. Our programs embed testing skills within our carefully monitored, outcome-based strategic teaching.

Technology Program:
Technology is taught and stressed at every level of programming at Widener Memorial School. We teach pupils to use technology to access the curriculum in order to enhance learning. Students learn research skills by using the Internet extensively. Word Processing in Microsoft Word and Power Point presentation software are utilized to complete major classroom projects.
There are many points of pride as regards our technology education programs beyond the three specialized Technology Labs within our campus. Pupils at Widener Memorial School use technology to assist in their educational program throughout all grades. We have programs that include:

After School Programs:
The Variety @ Widener Memorial After School Program is funded through the Pennsylvania Health Management Corporation which provides Out-of-School Time programs. The program at this site provides services to students in grades K-12 plus. Students receive a nutritious snack each day and receive help with their homework. Students also receive tutoring and participate in activities such as arts and crafts, African percussion, computer lab, cooking, drama, physical education and vocational skills. The program operates Monday-Friday, except for early dismissal days from 3:09 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.
