Our Vision

J. H. Taggart School will create a nurturing, supportive environment in which children can achieve and grow.  We will create life-long learners who develop strategies for problem solving and independence in academic and social knowledge as they take their place as contributing members of society.  We will provide a stable and cohesive environment that enables students to develop a sense of empowerment, ownership, and responsibility for learning and service to the group and community.

Our Mission

The academic achievement of all students at J. H. Taggart School must improve.  We believe that all children can reach their learning potential and that the achievement gap can be eliminated.  We are responsible for that improvement and are obligated to prepare, ensure, and empower all students of diverse backgrounds to achieve their full intellectual and social potential in order to become lifelong learners and productive members of society.  We commit ourselves to raising student achievement through District-wide reforms and restructuring measures.
