Greetings, Class of 2018!

Although summer is certainly a time for rest, relaxation, and fun, we are asking that you read two books before you return to school in September in order to help keep your mind sharp and to help prepare you for the academic challenges of high school. There will be one book that everyone must read, and one book that you may choose from a list of three.

MUST  READ:

A Separate Peace, by John Knowles

+ ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:

The Messenger, by Lois Lowry
Into Thin Air, by John Krakauer
True Grit, by Charles Portis

Thank you in advance for keeping your brain in shape over the summer so that you return ready for the academic challenges of your first year here at The Academies at Roxborough High School. Enjoy your summer, and we look forward to meeting you in the fall!
