MYA - Middle Years Alternative
Welcome to Middle Years Alternative!
As principal of Middle Years Alternative, it is my pleasure to welcome everyone back to MYA. As we enter a new school year, we are very excited about the changes at our school. It is MYA's mission to prepare our students for high school and beyond. We hope that you will find that our staff works very hard to make this a place where students learn and grow. Additionally, this year we will begin to use data driven instruction to challenge our students to master the Pennsylvania Common Core Standards. Your students will come home to tell you about their data trackers and binders. Thank you for visiting our website where you will discover what's going on at our school. We hope that you will find it helpful and informative. Again, welcome back!

Volunteers are a vital part of our school community. We know that you are busy and have choices about where you can spend your time. We thank you so much for choosing to spend some of that time with us!!!
We have a wide array of volunteer opportunities that range from 1 time class trip chaperones to assistance at our front desk, main office or lunchroom.
Wherever you choose to spend your time you should know the following:
1. We really appreciate you!!!!
2. All volunteers must have the following clearances:
• PSP Criminal History Clearance
• Child Abuse Certification
3. Both of these clearances are free.
4. All volunteers must meet with the principal (or designee) prior to volunteering.

Transpasses are distributed during lunch for the following week. If your child is absent on the day transpasses are distributed, he/she should report to the Main Office to receive a transpass. Student transpasses cannot be replaced if they are lost. Students are encouraged to write their name on the back of the pass.
