MYA - Middle Years Alternative School for the Humanities
Welcome to Middle Years Alternative!
As the weather changes and we get closer to the end of our school year, we are continuing to focus on instruction at MYA. Instruction is our #1 priority. We are coming around to our testing season in April and looking forward to the achievement that our students will make. Our staff has worked diligently and very hard to make this a place where students learn and grow. We are excited about the progress that we've made and we acknowledge that we have a great deal more work to do, but it is good work! We have impressive opportunities for the second half of our year, which include: college visits, project exhibitions, our school-wide picnic at Brandywine and our graduation ceremony.
We are grateful for all of our parents support of their students, as well as our school! You continue to help us reach our goal of One School. One Culture.
Volunteers are a vital part of our school community. We know that you are busy and have choices about where you can spend your time. We thank you so much for choosing to spend some of that time with us!!!
We have a wide array of volunteer opportunities that range from 1 time class trip chaperones to assistance at our front desk, main office or lunchroom.
Wherever you choose to spend your time you should know the following:
1. We really appreciate you!!!!
2. All volunteers must have the following clearances:
• PSP Criminal History Clearance
• Child Abuse Certification
3. Both of these clearances are free.
4. All volunteers must meet with the principal (or designee) prior to volunteering.
