Welcome to Middle Years Alternative!
Dear Parents and MYA Scholars:
In just a few weeks, we will open our doors to welcome our students to the new school year. I hope that you have enjoyed your summer, and are looking forward to the new year as much as we are. This year promises to be a year full of achievement, productivity and growth for our students. Together, we will create a year of excellence for our scholars as we focus on student engagement, maintaining a positive culture and rigorous instruction.
We will continue to move forward with our MYA Motto, “Think. Lead. Do” and also focus on our school mission and vision as we strive to make our students problem solvers, critical thinkers and responsible citizens.
We will be welcoming some new teachers, staff members and partnerships that will prove to be great assets to the MYA team and a tremendous support to our students.
We look forward to working with each and every one of you this year. We invite and encourage our parents to partner with us and become active participants in your scholar’s education because your support is so important to their success.
Once again, welcome back! Together, let’s make it another great year at MYA.
Volunteers are a vital part of our school community. We know that you are busy and have choices about where you can spend your time. We thank you so much for choosing to spend some of that time with us!!!
We have a wide array of volunteer opportunities that range from 1 time class trip chaperones to assistance at our front desk, main office or lunchroom.
Wherever you choose to spend your time you should know the following:
1. We really appreciate you!!!!
2. All volunteers must have the following clearances:
• PSP Criminal History Clearance
• Child Abuse Certification
3. Both of these clearances are free.
4. All volunteers must meet with the principal (or designee) prior to volunteering.
