Message from the Principal
Dear Robert Morris Family:
Last year was a new year with new beginnings. This year, our journey continues. Our mission at Robert Morris is to educate, support and challenge students through best instructional practices in all content areas. Our staff, in partnership with our parents and community, will work together to cultivate a positive school culture in order for students to succeed. We are excited about some of the new initiatives this year, and what the year will bring for the Robert Morris Family. I hope that more families will become involved and volunteer and support our school. I encourage every student and parent to embrace the opportunity to make this a great school year.
We participated in professional development to improve the instructional opportunities of students. We have a new reading and math curriculum for all students. This year we will continue on refining assessments, aligning instruction to standards, and improving communication of what students are learning to students and parents.
Our #1 goal is to improve student learning and to help advance their critical thinking, knowledge, skills and ability to problem solve. If, at any time, you have any questions about what is occurring in your child’s class, please contact your child’s teacher. We all need to work together to benefit our students.
We will continue to provide students with hands-on experiences that require students to think critically, problem solve, and assess the process and the outcomes. It is essential that we, in partnership with you, to compete in an ever increasingly global economy. In addition, the amount of technical information in the world continues to grow at a rapid pace. Integration of technology into schools is an essential and inevitable part of today’s society. Students must learn and master how to access information, synthesize, and evaluate it.
As a reminder:
1. School begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 3:09 p.m. No early dismissals after 2:30 p.m. This is a School District of Philadelphia, not a Robert Morris policy.
2. Our uniform policy continues to be the same. Uniforms are available for purchase at the school. The cost of the Robert Morris t-shirt is $8.00. If you desire to purchase polo shirts, please contact the school. Polo shirts must be paid for in advance.
Every child deserves a great school in the neighborhood in which they live. Robert Morris is a great school! Together, we can do anything for our children.
Ms. Carolyn K. Williams, Principal
