The FIFTH GRADE will be celebrating the SOLSTICE on Thursday, December 22nd rom 9:30 AM – 01:30 PM on the 2nd Floor. Please DO NOT use the odd side stairs or the hallway during that time.

Tickets to "Race To Nowhere" will be sold at the Winter Concert this evening. You can purchase by way of cash - $10 or use our computers to purchase online with a credit card. The event is Thursday, January 5, 2012 from 6:30-8:30pm in the Masterman auditorium.

BOYS VARSITY BASKETBALL SCHEDULE FOR THE WEEK

 

THURSDAY  DECEMBER 21st    vs OLNEY – ALUMNI GAME

 

Tis the season to support buildOn: Candy cane cards will be available for sale Monday through Thursday. High school students can buy them during advisory; all students can buy them before or after school in the main hallway. Send a note and candy cane to your friends, classmates and teachers for just $1 each. Cards and candy canes will be delivered on Friday, 12/23.

7-1 and 7-5 will be holding a first ever GINGERBREAD SCHOOL SILENT AUCTION and selling school-themed gifts and ornaments before the Winter Concert and during intermission to support buildOn. All buildOn proceeds go directly toward building a school in Mali.

Congratulations to the Masterman HS debate team for winning the city championship on Thursday! Other special awards were given to Maia Reumann-Moore for being indivudually ranked 2nd in the city and for Melanie Millwood, Sophia Farion, and Maia Reumann-Moore winning second in the team rankings. Thanks to the rest of the squad, Sahil Singhal, Robert Woods, Sam Gorka, Zheng Tian, Rachel Hampton, Leland Reardon, Vicky Shi, and Beatrix Lu for a great season.

STUDENTS:

There will be a meeting Wednesday, December 21st, during 5th period in room 211 for all 5th & 6th graders interested in participating in Odyssey of the Mind, a creativity competition that encourages students to "think outside the box" to solve challenging problems. Students should bring their lunch.

Juniors and seniors: Members of the Class of 2011 will participate in a panel discussion this Thursday,

Dec 22nd during 3rd period in the IMC. Our graduates will share insights they have acquired from their college experiences. Plan to join them so you can gain some helpful tips for your college planning.

Masterman's annual Financial Aid Night will take place on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 6:30 pm. Representatives from PHEAA and from the financial aid office at Villanova University will share important information regarding completing the FAFSA and accessing financial aid. All families are welcome to attend, however seniors and their families are especially encouraged to do so.

High school students: Tikkun Olam, Masterman’s Jewish Educational Workshop, invites you to their Chanukah party on Friday, December 23rd during guidance in room 301. Everyone is invited to come celebrate with food, story telling and a dreidle tournament for the ages. Sign-up sheets will be outside the English Department and 402.
