William Loesche Elementary SchoolMessage from the Principal
Welcome to Loesche Elementary School! I am proud to say that we are the most amazing elementary school in the city of Philadelphia! William H. Loesche Elementary School prides ourselves in preparing students to be life-long learners and future leaders. Our students are hardworking, dedicated and exhibit behaviors that support the school theme that all "Loesche Learners are Leaders!" Loesche is an elementary school that is located in the Somerton neighborhood in Northeast Philadelphia at Bustleton Ave. and Tomlinson Rd. Currently, there are over 30 languages that are spoken at Loesche. Our multiculturalism and diversity were recently celebrated school-wide with "Diversity Day". Each class studied a country, prepared presentations and students took turns having their passports stamped as they visited and learned about each country, in addition to multicultural activities, games, and a fashion show. There are many exciting things in store for the 2011-2012 school year, including the Science Bus visit to Loesche for 4th and 5th graders, Principal 200 Club "golden tickets" for Positive School Wide Behavior, and many more things to come. At Loesche, we are partners with the community. We urge parents and caregivers to become involved in the Home and School Association and the neighborhood Somerton Civic Association to ensure we model for our students to be active participants in our community. I am grateful for your support of the Loesche Elementary School Community, and the opportunities your support provides for our students. Thank you, Victoria Velazquez, Principal
