Message from the Principal, Ernest C. Lowe
Dear Students,
We are all citizens of the John Paul Jones Middle School. This site has been carefully constructed so that it can be used as a tool for parents, guardians, staff, and students. The Jones Middle School Handbook has been given to every student to use as a guide to the policies and procedures at Jones Middle School. The policies and procedures contained in this handbook have been carefully prepared and presented to enable you to enhance your educational program. This book should be carried and used all of the time. It will help you to be organized and provide a vehicle for communication between school and home. Your success at Jones will be directly proportional to your efforts. Your Middle School experience will be what you choose to make it.
It is expected that all students should show respect for the rights, property and privileges of others just as you expect and appreciate this respect when others show it to you. As a school citizen you are responsible to the administration, teachers, non¬teaching staff, and your parents for your conduct. Good behavior can make your school life a happy and rewarding one.
Your conduct at all John Paul Jones Middle School activities is a reflection on your school. We expect you to be worthy of the respect of others at all times. Wearing your uniform is part of that respect and is mandatory. We want you to be proud of your school and your fellow students, and we want others to be proud of all of you. Each of you has a responsibility for the school's reputation as we strive to make ours the best middle school in Philadelphia. Our focus will continue to be on math and literacy. To that end we will be participating in a number of activities as a family to strengthen our reading and math skills. Everyone, students, staff, parents, and the community, will be encouraged to participate as we make every effort to improve our students' reading and math scores.
We look forward to working together and having some fun as we strive to accomplish this goal.
Sincerely,
Mr. Ernest C. Lowe
Principal
