Science Clubs
GHS Eco Club - Meets Tuesdays after school in Room 308.
The Eco Club is for students who have an interest in the environment and who have a desire to improve it. The club develops leadership skills needed to organize the recycling of 19,000 lbs. of paper and 1,000 lbs. of plastic bottles each year. The club members assign themselves into six teams: Weighing, Hauling, Plastic Bottle Collection, Bottle Preparation, Sign and Supervision. These teams prepare 200 lbs. of paper and 900 bottles each week for collection by the City Streets Department.
National Academic League/Philadelphia Academic League
Meets Monday-Thursday, Room 311A
The goal of this club is to promote academic excellence by responding to short answer questions in a timed format. Students meet after school from November to May. They compete against local high schools in the following categories:

- World History
- Problem Solving
The club is open to any interested student. Come to room 311A after school and check it out.

Every year the Philadelphia High School for Girls casts students for a dramatic production. Sometimes pure drama, sometimes a musical, but every time something special and rivaling achievements of professional companies. The students perform on stage, play in the orchestra and help construct and paint the sets. The effort is enourmous and the results are incredible.
