The counselors’ offices are located opposite the main office in rooms 129, 130, and 132. Students are urged to contact their counselor when they experience academic, social, or emotional problems. Parents may also call for an appointment. Counselors are assigned according to the first letter of the student’s last name.

College Guidance
The college guidance office is located in room 108. Information is available about colleges, college majors, costs, and financial aid. Individual conferences with the counselors about these topics are scheduled for seniors and are available for other students. More than three hundred colleges and universities send representatives to visit the school. More than one hundred college representatives attend a College Night held for parents and students in the fall. Many prestigious institutions accept Girls’ High graduates.
Scholarships
About 85% of each Girls’ High graduating class receives some form of scholarship aid. The counseling staff encourages students to apply for a multitude of scholarships available to students who meet established criteria.
Financial Aid
Along with scholarships many students also will benefit from financial aid for college. There are many websites that will enable parents and students to learn about the different forms of financial aid available to them. Go to Scholarship Resources for more information about aid that is available.

The College Guidance Library is located in room 108. In addition to six networked computers, a printer, books, catalogues, videotapes, and pamphlets about college, college majors, costs, and financial aid. Individual conferences about these topics are scheduled with seniors and are available for other students. More than 300 colleges and universities send representatives to visit the school. More than 100 college representatives attend a College Night held for parents and students in the fall. Many prestigious institutions accept Girls’ High graduates.
