Message from the Principal

    Welcome to the website for the Philadelphia High School For Girls. For 160 years we have provided a rigorous educational program that has successfully prepared young women for entrance into a college of their choice and to ultimately to become compassionate leaders in their chosen field. Our students compete with peers through academics, sports, and scientific research, hold student leadership roles, and explore the arts through visual and tactile arts, dance, and both instrumental and vocal music. Each year we have students who win local and national awards and are inducted into the National Honor Society.

    In addition to our strong academic program we are also known for a long-standing variety of traditions that contribute to the formation of a strong supportive sisterhood which crosses cultures and results in our students supporting and contributing to each others learning in a gentle safe environment that is easily accessible from all areas of the city. We have a strong Alumnae Association through which students continue their life long friendships.
