Home and School MessageDear Parents, Hello and welcome to another year at Anne frank Elementary School! This year at the Anne Frank Home and School Association, we are proud to serve as your new Co-Presidents. We are looking forward to being a part of an amazing school community. We are fortunate to have outstanding teachers and staff who work hard to help support our school and students. Each year we enjoy becoming more involved with the school community and the many ways that parents can help our students and teachers. Our motivation for participating in the Home and School Association is our firm belief that we need to be strong advocates for the education and well-being of every child and we can only do so if we are engaged in the process. We must all make the decision that time spent involved in our children's education is worth while. That is true for whatever amount of time you can give. Too often individuals believe that involvement in the HSA activities translates to giving significant volunteer hours. While there are many of you that do just that, the HSA also need those who may only be able to volunteer 1 hour. We are grateful to be working with a wonderful group of volunteers on our Home and School Executive Board. These volunteers will be dedicating their time and expertise to help bring academic, administrative and school community support to the students and families at Anne frank Elementary and we thank them for their service! If you would like to learn how you could become more involved in your child's school, come volunteer with the Home and School! Check out our new bulletin board inside near our office to see what's up and coming!.You can contact the Home and School office at 215-969-3883. We look forward to meeting you! Sincerely, Your Home and School Co-President's Julie Baker and Jennnifer McManus
Graduation and Promotion Requirements
The September 29, 2005 Promotion and Graduation Policy (pdf) provides information on the requirements that must be met by students to be promoted and grade 12 students to graduate. These requirements include passing major subjects and completion of a project. Supports for students, including an extended day program, will be in place to help students meet the requirements. The TerraNova and End of Grade (EOG) tests will no longer be administered as system-wide assessments. Other assessments are being administered as needed. This policy will remain in effect until a new policy is issued.
