The Feltonville Intermediate School vision is to provide all students with the educational and social skills needed to be productive and responsible citizens. With high expectations, a safe and positive school climate, parental and community involvement, and state-of-the-art instruction, students willl achieve their potential and become cooperative, collaborative, life-long learners.
Our Mission
The mission of Feltonville Intermediate School is to ensure a quality education for diverse and multicultural students to actively engage parental and community invovlement in the eucational process and to work collaboratively to create a safe, respectful, learning environment conducive to developing life-long learners and independent thinkers.

Our current student population:
- Grades 3 - 5
- 750 students enrolled
- 92% average daily student attendance
- 16% of students are identified as Limited English Proficiency
- 14% of students are identified as Special Education

Points of Pride
The Feltonville Intermediate School is a small, family type atmosphere. Our school has good student and staff attendance as well as parental involvement.
At Feltonville Intermediate, we also have many special programs that enable us to reach each and every learner in all subject areas:
Literacy/Reading:
- Extened Day-a program to provide extra support in reading for students.
- Reading First - a government funded program that provides extra learning materials and instruction for third grade.
- E.S.O.L. - a program that provides intense assistance for students' whose primary language at home is not English.
Mathematics:
- First in Math - an internet program that provides interactive and fun games to increase students' basic math skills.
- Planetturtle-an interactive math website that is aligned to the EveryDay Math program to provides opportunities for students to practice math skills.
- Extended Day- a program to provided extra support in math for students.
Science:
- Earth Force - a program that provides resources for students, teachers and the community to increase awareness of the environment.
- Science Class - two teachers to focus specifically on science standards for third thru fifth grade.
Other Programs:
- Chess Club - an after school club that teaches the basic concepts of playing chess, and participates in chess tournaments throughout the city
- Beacon Program - an after school program providing enrichment in academic and life skills to empower students to be successful in life
- Cub Scouts - an after school program designed for boys ages 7 - 10 that teaches them to both personally achieve and work as a team
- Universal Breakfast - provides a free breakfast to all students
- Instrumental Music - three times a week, a music teacher comes to instruct students on how to play a variety of instruments (drums, saxophone, trumpet, etc.)
