We are pleased to announce that Dobson made AYP (Adequate Yearly Progress) again in 2010. Dobson students continue to perform above the state average on the PSSA. I just want to thank our students, staff, parents, community members and the school district support staff for helping us in our quest to reach EVERY student and for contributing to the mission of Dobson School. It is truly an honor to serve as Dobson’s principal.
In addition to our high academic standards, we have an outstanding extra curricular program. Our special activities include student council, school newspaper, performing arts, choir, instrumental music, and intramural and inter-scholastic sports, including: basketball, flag football, volleyball, softball, baseball and tennis.

Dobson is fortunate to have an active and energetic Home & School Association. Parents meet with me regularly; they plan special events, coordinate fundraisers and participate in decision-making. Our K-3 parents also enjoy participating in our Family Read Workshops. The workshops focus on creating a positive dialogue with children through the use of books. By connecting home and school through the early literacy development presented in our highly successful workshops, we support our children in acquiring the literacy skills necessary to maximize their learning opportunities at Dobson and beyond.
