Message from the Principal

On behalf of our staff, I would like to welcome you to our website. Disston  School offers children in kindergarten to grade eight an enriching academic and social experience. Our dedicated staff and supportive Home and School Association work together to allow each child the opportunity to develop his/her potential to its fullest.

Please take some time to review the contents of this web site. Some of the items covered are general school policy, while others are unique to Disston School. Each item is important for students and parents to know.

Educational success is greatly dependent upon the bond that is forged between school and home.  As educators and parents our challenge is to help all students view school as an unlimited opportunity for achievement. Together, we can inspire our children to reach for and to attain success.

Announcements

• Uniform Reminder: Students must be in perfect uniform each day. Jeans, hoodies, large earrings, sweats and oversized shirts may not be worn to school.
• Thank you for your continuing support in bringing students to school on time and in uniform. Please remember that the students must be in line by 8:25 AM.
• It is important to the success of our educational program that each student completes homework assignments every night.
• It is important that your child knows how they are getting home in the afternoon. Please send a note to the teacher if there will be a change in dismissal plans.
• Breakfast begins at 8:00 AM. Students may not be in the building before this time unless they have a 7:30 detention. Lunches are served from 10:40- 1:00. Both are free to all of our students.
