Message from Our Principal, Mr. Hoffman
I am honored to continue to lead the number one middle school in the City of Philadelphia- Russell H. Conwell Middle Magnet! Russell Conwell once said that you could travel the world only to find “Acres of Diamonds” in your own backyard. I have lived one block from Conwell all of my life and graduated from Conwell as a student. I returned, in 1980, as a teacher, soon became Dean of Students, then Assistant Principal and now Principal of this great institution.
My mission includes maintaining Conwell’s long tradition of excellence while creating new opportunities for the children we treasure to excel. While safety will always be my top priority, I will be able this year to focus on curriculum and instruction, merging the School District’s Core Curriculum framework with the Emerging Scholars program.
Conwell’s precious gems, our students, give Conwell its value, for they are priceless. I promise there will be an abundance of opportunities for our “diamonds” to shine, to take pride in their accomplishments and to achieve success at Conwell.
