Providing all students with the academic, technological & social skills needed to be productive & contributing citizens in our society.

Bridesburg School

The Bridesburg Elementary School is located at Richmond and Jenks Streets in the Bridesburg section of Philadelphia and provides education for children from kindergarten through grade eight.  Our current enrollment is 735 students.  Recently, Bridesburg School has been recognized as the #1 school in Pennsylvania for academic achievement and #3 in significant point gain out of approximately 3,500 schools in Pennsylvania.  The school vision has been created over time.  The principles are implemented through our instructional practices and our efforts to build a school climate that has high expectations.  We feel that it is important to identify the needs of all students, especially those needs that may result in a decreased opportunity to succeed academically if they are not addressed.  It is our goal to create a climate that gives students the opportunity to develop a positive outlook on their school experience.  In addition, we believe that children learn by doing, using all modalities in a supportive, risk free environment.  Through the use of cooperative learning, exploration, multiple exposures, and positive reinforcement, students will learn.  The staff believes that our role is to be a positive support, a learning guide, a good role model and a unified, consistent teaching team.

Cell Phone Policy

Bridesburg Policy

According to the School District of Philadelphia Student Code of Conduct, it is against the Code for a student to bring to s a cell phone or electronic device.  The first time a student is caught with a cell phone or other electronic device the item WILL BE confiscated and returned at the end of the day.  The second time the parents will called into meeting with the principal or her designee and the item will only be returned at that time.  If there is a third time that the student is caught with one of these electronic devices, the item will be CONFISCATED AND NOT RETURNED UNTIL THE END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR.
