Message from the Principal

Greetings to all members of our Baldi family,

I regret to inform you that we will not be having Saturday School this year because of the recent budget cuts.  Please make sure that your child continues to use many of the online supports that the school offers for those students who are in need.  Please contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions or concerns.

Your child’s second report card will be distributed soon. Conferences will take place on February 15, 16 and 17, 2012 from 1:00-3:00 PM.

During February we will celebrate Black History Month, Chinese New Year and Presidents’ Day.  Encourage your child to participate in one of our many monthly writing contests.  Please be reminded that school will be closed on Monday, February 20 for the observance of Presidents’ Day. Please make note that students will be dismissed early on March 7, 2012 due to teachers’ professional development.

Finally, beginning on March 12, we will begin administering the annual PSSA test. Please help your child by:

•ensuring your child gets a good night’s sleep the night before the test. A sleepy child is generally less able to maintain focus.

•making sure that your child eats a well balanced meal the night before the test and the morning of the test. Good nutrition will keep your child alert.

•getting your child to school on time so he/she can calmly go through his/her morning routine with the rest of the class.

I look forward to seeing you during Report Card Conferences.

Best Regards,

Eugene McLaughlin
