Thank You for Supporting Our School

PLAYWORKS: (Grades K-8)

This program provides a full-time coach that oversees recess for grades K-7 and afterschool programs for middle grades including non-competitive soccer, volleyball and basketball.

Philadelphia Reads (Grade 2)

Each week the students will participate in a mentoring program through Philadelphia Reads Power Partner Program. Students, teachers and parent volunteers will travel to Dechert Law Firm at 2929 Arch St. via a school bus.  While at Dechert, each student will be partnered with an adult mentor and be able to practice reading with their partner. The first graders will remain with their mentor through 3rd grade.

Philadelphia Zoo (Grade 2)
This partnership is filled with lively discussions and hands-on activities.  This educational experience meets the Benchmarks for Science Literacy goals established by the American Association for the Advancement of Science as well as criteria for Pennsylvania Department of Education Academic Standards.

Philadelphia Museum of Art – Art Speaks Program (Grade 4)
Art Speaks is a museum visit program designed specifically for fourth-grade classrooms in Philadelphia public schools. The content is art and the wonderful ways we can learn about and respond to what artists create. The learning strategies are literacy based, and connect to The School District of Philadelphia’s fourth-grade language arts curriculum.

Temple University CRE Program (Grade 5)
Through a partnership and grant program with Temple University, we will be offering Conflict Resolution Education through a series of programs including CRE-related lesson plans, peer mediation and constructive conflict management between students and students & teachers.  This program is especially important for children just entering middle school years.

University of the Arts (All grades)
Two ‘artists in residence’ from the University of the Arts will work with students in all grades with a focus on music and dance. The artists will provide a total of 70 hours of supplemental music and dance education with our students.

After-School Partnerships
