The Bache-Martin School Counselor sponsors a program called "Tiger Cash." Students earn tiger cash for positive behavior. Students can turn in their tiger cash for prizes each week. They also have a chance to save their tiger cash for larger prizes. Here are some of the ways our students earn their tiger cash:
a. Reading in the morning b. Walking in line quietly c. Sportsmanship/cooperation/positive social skills (sharing, being inclusive) d. Wearing a full uniform for a week e. Perfect attendance for the week f. Good manners and positive behavior g. Completing all assignment and homework
The school counselor support a Peer Mediation Program that enables two or more students in a dispute to find a mutually agreeable solution to their differences with the aid of a peer mediator. The school has 11 students in grades 6th through 8th and 4 staff members that participate in 24 hours of training provided by Good Shepherd. Mediation takes place during lunchtime with 2 trained peer mediators and a school guidance counselor.
