Home & School Association

My name is Sharai Cunningham. I am the Home and School Association President for Chester A. Arthur. I am excited about the new programs that Principal Newman is currently implementing for our children's school. I am also excited about supporting Arthur school through the Home and School Association. My goal for Arthur is to show that, a strong collaboration between excellent teachers, an active principal, engaged parents/guardians and a successful home and school association, all focusing on providing exemplary balanced literacy instruction in classrooms and distributing resources for families that can enrich households, will build a successful school for our children.

I look forward to collaborating with all of you and the possibilities of new beginnings.

Friends of Chester Arthur

Friends of chester Arthur (FoCA) is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization, formed by Southwest Center City parents and community members who are committed to partnering with the staff, teachers and students of Chester A. Arthur, in order to foster a robust learning environment for our neighborhood children.

We were formed as a means to help facilitate the involvement and support of community members living within and near the Chester A. Arthur School catchment. Our goal is to help support current and future staff, teachers, students and parents in their effort to create and maintain a successful and safe school environment for all children who attend Chester A. Arthur.

South of South Neighborhood Association

The South of South Neighborhood Association (known as SOSNA) works with our 8th graders to provide community service opportunities, hosts food and toy drives for our students, and helps to keep the neighborhood informed about what is going on at Arthur.  SOSNA is a tremendous resource for anyone that lives in the neighborhood and is located at the corner of 19th and Christian Streets.
