Admission/Dismissal Procedure

SCHOOL HOURS- Admissions/Dismissals

• The regular school day at James Alcorn School begins at 8:30 A.M. each morning and ends at 3:09 P.M. Children should arrive in the school yard between 8:20 A.M. and 8:30 A.M.
• All Kindergarten classes will line up at designated areas. Lines will be met by teachers and escorted into the building at 8:30 A.M.
• Students will be dismissed at 3:09 P.M. Teachers will walk their students to the closest yard exit for dismissal. Please plan to meet your children at the exit door in the yard at that time. It is extremely important that you are on time.  Kindergarten students will not be released unless the parent is there.
• Students may only be dismissed to someone other than a parent when the parent has given the teacher/school permission in writing. We will not release your child to anyone unless you have given us permission to do so.
• Please call the office if you will be delayed picking up your child. Students get upset when they are left and our office does not have adequate supervision for students past dismissal time.
