Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) General Information

Under the Pennsylvania Accountability System and the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, school districts in Pennsylvania are expected to meet the Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) performance targets, just like individual schools and the state as a whole.

The School Improvement Notices were based on pre-appeal AYP data and were mailed to the families of the students enrolled at schools in levels of school improvement on August 23, 2012.
