Student Discipline, Hearing, and Expulsions

Welcome

You've reached the website for the Office of Student Rights & Responsibilities (formerly the Office of Student Discipline, Hearings, and Expulsions). We are the primary office dealing with the Code of Student Conduct, ensuring that students can find an appropriate school placement to meet their academic, social, and emotional needs. Feel free to browse our website, or contact us if you have questions.

Our Vision

The Office of Student Discipline, Hearings, and Expulsions supports a safe and secure learning environment for the school community by implementing appropriate and unbiased corrective actions while preserving the rights of students and families as outlined by the Code of Student Conduct.

Quick Links

Here are some of our most commonly-requested resources, organized to help get you started.

  • The 2012-2013 Code of Student Conduct is available online. An electronic version of our Discipline Procedures Manual will be coming shortly.
    • Anyone who just needs a quick reference chart for the Disruptive Behaviors and Suspension Codes can use our 1-page conduct matrix.
  • Resources for principals, posted at the beginning of this year on the PIB. Also, be sure to see the Student Discipline forms (also linked at the bottom of that page).
  • Contact information for Hearing Officers, the staff who oversee hearings for violations of the Code of Student Conduct.
  • Contact information for Discipline and Truancy Liaisons, who provide support to schools.
  • Some of the forms associated with our office (including electronic versions of the EH-20 Pink Slip, EH-21 Disciplinary Transfer Request, and related documents).
