Working Groups and Task Forces

Critical to our work of creating excellence, equity, and accountability within our District is to build strong teams of dedicated leaders from inside and outside of our Schools.  The following are descriptions, agendas, minutes, and efforts of the existing task forces and working groups that will serve as the foundation for the District's strategic plan.

Imagine 2014 Working Groups - Forming the core of the strategic planning process, these 9 groups will have the primary responsibility of collecting the wealth of information from existing evaluations and research, the work of other task forces, and feedback from the community, to create a set of findings and recommendations that will serve as the backbone of District's plan to achieve excellence, equity, and accountability.

Community Engagement 2014 - Initially centered around critical issues to the immigrant community in Philadelphia, this task force is expanded to the larger Philadelphia community to include four subcommittees (Parent Advocacy, Instruction, Safety, and Truancy) that have been given the charge of creating a robust set of recommendations addressing these four areas.

Graduation 2014 Leadership Team - The mission of the Dropout Prevention and Recovery Leadership Team is to initiate, facilitate and support changes in school practice to prevent students from dropping out and to increase graduation rates, while ensuring that students are engaged in their own learning and prepared for postsecondary education and the world of work.
