Psychological Services

The most effective method of providing school psychological services is through a multi-tiered consultative service delivery model. This model incorporates pre-referral intervention, diagnostic/prescriptive assessments, and program consultation to regular and special education staff.

Within the School District’s model of service delivery the school psychologist works collaboratively with schools to:

  • Provide instructional consultative support to classroom teachers.
  • Provide school-wide behavioral health consultation and support.
  • Provide training to school staff and families.
  • Assist CSAP Teams in designing and implementing instructional and behavioral strategies for students experiencing learning or adjustment difficulties.
  • Provide appropriate individual psycho-educational assessments of referred children.
  • Assist in the development of initial ERs and IEPs for students receiving special education services.
  • Assist in monitoring of pupil progress in special education programs and inclusion of children in regular education programs.
  • Provide consultation services to the school community during mental health emergencies.
