Programs and Services

The Office of Research and Evaluation (ORE) is responsible for conducting program evaluations for federal, state and locally funded projects and programs, and overseeing external research conducted by individuals and organizations.

External Research Review

The Research Review Committee (RRC) is responsible for reviewing all proposals submitted to conduct research in the School District of Philadelphia. The Research Review Commitee meets every month. For more information on conducting research in the District, visit External Research Review/RRC.

Program Evaluation

ORE conducts evaluations of federal, state and locally funded programs.  In addition, ORE monitors external evaluators and provides technical assistance to program offices when developing grant proposals.

Other Activities

ORE conducts selected research studies to better understand and improve student learning and the educational process.  While some studies are district-wide, other studies may be limited to selected schools and regions based on the topic, population, and goals of a study.
