Transition Programs

Philadelphia students who commit a serious violoation of the School District's Code of Student Conduct and are given a hearing with the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities could receive a disciplinary transfer.  Students who are transferred for disciplinary reasons are assigned to a Transition School. 

The following Transition Schools are approved programs that serve as temporary alternative settings for students who have committed serious violations of the Code of Student Conduct They provide a highly structured academic program that promotes educational, social, and emotional development in preparation for successful transition back to a traditional program.

These programs feature engaging classrooms, personalized learning strategies and academic progress monitoring in a non-traditional setting.Transition Program students receive the following:

  • PA Common Core Instruction
  • Personalized Learning Planns
  • Character Education
  • Counseling / Referrals
  • Supportive Services
  • Low Student:Staff Ratio
