Transition Services

The Alternative Education Region provides a variety of schools and supports to students in transitional placements, helping them find the educational programs which best meet their needs.

  • Transition Schools: Alternative school settings for students who have committed Level 2 violations of the Code of Conduct, providing a program for educational, social, and emotional development.
  • RETI-WRAP Program: Assisting students returning from court-ordered placement in determining an appropriate educational assignment
  • Philadelphia Learning Academies (PLA's): Educational sites for students who have been expelled, providing structured classrooms and personalized learning strategies.
  • Cross Functional Team: Learn more about the staff who determine appropriate school placements for students going through the transition process. Information about the Transition Liaisons is found here.

Alternative Education Regional Centers

The Alternative Education Regional Centers are the hubs for all questions about students in Transition Schools. If parents or students have questions about the day-to-day function of these programs, including how students get assigned to these sites, finding a program close to their home address, and the process whereby students transition back to regular daytime programs, we encourage you to call or visit a Regional Center, at:
