What is a School Advisory Council?

A School Advisory Council (SAC) is a forum for exchanging ideas about how to improve student achievement among a school's stakeholders: principal, teachers, school staff, parents, students and community members. SACs are the overall leadership structure at each school. As a School Advisory Council member, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Contribute to the shared goal of improving student achievement.
  • Be informed about what's happening at your child's school.
  • Be an important partner in the education system, whose views are valued.
  • Have a vehicle through which to express opinions.
