Vision:  To enable, educate and empower parents, families and communities to access district resources to aid in assisting their children in achieving academic proficiency, college and career readiness.
Mission: The PF&CS is dedicated to creating and supporting partnerships among schools, families and the community. As a central resource for family engagement, PF&CS will strive to engage and inform parent leaders and families as essential partners in helping students achieve academic proficiency, college and career readiness.
Primary Role and Responsibilities:
  • Work with schools to develop parental engagement and strategies for academic achievement, e.g. understand and review student performance data
  • Work with schools and communities to develop and implement School Advisory Councils
  • Establish, support and manage Parent Resource Centers
  • Provide translation and interpretations services for schools, students and families
  • Work with schools and communities to train families on districts protocols, processes and procedures
  • Identify and develop new partnerships and continue to foster existing ones; sponsorships, school resources and professional development opportunities
  • Collaborate with schools, principals and central offices to implement a data driven curriculum aligned to parent learning needs to increase student achievement through the District's Parent University.
  • Provide front-end information about District Services, Initiatives and Programs acting as a link between customers and appropriate District offices and working directly with schools and academic divisions to address parental questions and concerns.
 Functions:
  • Responsible for overseeing the District's Main Call Center and Parent Family Resource Center.
  • Responsible for developing community awareness and recruitment of parents to participate in the various classes to increase student achievement.
  • Manage Parent University operations with internal and external partners.
  • Communicate with all District's Departments to address parental concerns.
  • Support multilingual families, including refugees, and ensure education access equity for ELL student.
  • Provide written translation in 8 official languages (Albanian, Arabic, Chinese, French, Khmer, Russian, Spanish, and Vietnamese);
