National Board Certification for Philadelphia Teachers!!!

Donors Choose:

  • If you are a new or veteran teacher looking for a way to obtain materials for your students, please click here. Donors Choose is an organization that allows teachers to post what they want and need for their classrooms and various donors see the request and provide if they can.

 

New Teacher Induction

All full and part-time regularly employed teachers engaged in their initial teaching experience in a Pennsylvania public school entity must participate in the entity’s induction program as a requirement for Level II certification which is as follows.

Level II - In accordance with June 1, 1987 and September 1999 Regulations, the requirements for conversion of a Level I certificate are:

·         24 post baccalaureate credits;

·         3 years of satisfactory service on the Pennsylvania Level I certificate (all areas will convert simultaneously);

·         Completion of a Pennsylvania Department of Education-approved induction program; and

·         If Instructional I was issued in accordance with September 1999 regulations (effective date of September 1, 2001 or thereafter), satisfactory results on Level II assessmentFor clarification, contact the Bureau of Teacher Certification and Preparation:

The School District of Philadelphia’s induction program consists of 15 hours of face-to-face sessions and accompanying online assignments. 

Induction Cohorts will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on both Tuesday and Wednesday. Please be aware that the Tuesday Cohort will meet at Fels High School (5500 Langdon Street) and the Wednesday Cohort will meet at Audenried High School (3301 Tasker Street). Specific dates are as follows:
