Office of Health, Safety and Physical Education

Welcome

Welcome to the Office of Health, and Physical Education's web site. In our ongoing effort to provide services and support to all stakeholders in the school community, it is our intention to publish resources and current information that can be used to enhance the growth and enrichment of the students that we serve.

This site is designed to help stakeholders find information about Health and Physical Education Standards, Curriculum, Programs and Services; Procedures and Updates; and Other Programs of Enrichment.

Our web site is divided into two units, Health and Safety, and Physical Education. Please select the programs and services link to view the variety of services, contact information, standards, procedures and resources that our office offers.

Headline News

The Office of Health, Safety and Physical Education is pleased to inform all of our Elementary and Middle Schools that our Penn Relay Registration site will be open on February 15, 2010.

We would also like to take this opportunity to inform all of the schools about an exciting program called School Days sponsored by the University of Pennsylvania's Department of Athletics along with their partners, "PECO Energy" and "The Philadelphia Inquirer". In this program, schools will have the opportunity to attend THE RELAYS at a vastly reduced rate on Thursday, April 22, 2010 or Friday, April 22, 2010. Students who attend through this program will receive specific curricular packages designed for their age groups.

Announcements

Unfortunately, one of our student-athletes has had a severe infection with MRSA. The safety and well being of our students is always our top priority. Below is a link that provides facts about MRSA, its prevention and treatment. Please have a conversation with all student-athletes about MRSA as soon as possible. It is extremely important that this information be shared with all members of the school community.
