Grade and Space PlanningGrade and Space PlanningWelcomeWelcome to the Office of Grade and Space Planning. Our office reports directly to the Director of Capital Programs, who is under the Chief Operating Officer. The primary function of our office is the development of a dynamic computer Long Range Facilities Master Planning Model (LRFMP) that will enable the District to provide an infrastructure allowing Philadelphia’s children to learn in safe and modern buildings. The LRFMP is a tool that will help us to prioritize all of design and construction, renovation, or acquisition and/or replacement of educational facilities. We work together with the Office of Capital Programs whose responsibility it is to comply with the State Department of Education reporting requirements necessary to obtain reimbursement for School District construction projects. The intention of the Long Range Facilities Master Plan is to enable various offices to prioritize design, renovation, rehabilitation, modernization, expansion, construction, consolidation, acquisition, and disposal of education facilities to meet the academic achievement goals of the district.
