About Maintenance

The Maintenance Department is responsible for the repair, alterations and preventative maintenance of School District Facilities. This includes all of the mechanical and structural systems.

Executive Director of Maintenance

The Executive Director of Maintenance - oversees all aspects of the department. Directs the Maintenance Schedulers on the priority of work to be performed.

Maintenance Trades Scheduler

The Maintenance Trades Scheduler reports directly to the Maintenance Manager. They are responsible for the direct supervision of assigned foremen and trade mechanics. In addition they:
  • Review, prioritize and schedule all incoming work
  • Manage work order backlog
  • Produce weekly work schedules and assign work
  • Coordinate with the Material Coordinator for the ordering and delivery of materials
  • Document job related performance including disciplinary actions, positive feedback and training
  • Assign overtime in accordance with union regulations
  • Approve and schedule vacation time

Maintenance Foreman

Maintenance Foreman reports to the Maintenance Scheduler and performs the following duties:

  • Scopes work and identifies trade and material requirements.
  • Monitors progress of work, identifies/supplies additional materials and or tools necessary to complete the job.
  • Coordinates with principal and building representative to ensure the work is completed with minimal impact to building occupants.
  • Ensures all  applicable safety rules and regulations are complied with.
  • Supervises maintenance mechanics

Maintenance Mechanics

Maintenance Mechanics consist of the following trades:

  • Air Conditioning/Refrigeration
  • Automatic Plant
  • Automatic Temperature Control
  • Carpentry/Flooring
  • Electricians, Electronics, Elevator and Fire Phone Time
  • Iron Workers
  • Locksmiths
  • Machinists
  • Masonry
  • Painters/Glaziers
  • Plumbers
  • Roofers
  • Steamfitters
