To operate, maintain, construct and renovate the facilities of the School District of Philadelphia in a manner that provides a superior standard of service and reliability to our customers – students, their parents, staff and community – at the highest level of productivity and efficiency. In addition, these services must always be conducted in the most efficient manner and with minimal impact/disruptions.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide a safe, comfortable, and conducive learning environment for students, faculty and community. Facilities and Operations are responsible for the development and utilization of cost effective, protective, corrective, and preventive techniques to provide services to the schools. We are responsible for the efficient management of the School District's physical plants. Services are delivered to the schools and support areas by a work force of nearly 2,900 employees. Along with meticulous care and upkeep we strive to prolong and exceed the life expectancy of all district facilities. These services include the maintenance, cleaning and building management of Facilities throughout the District.
