Community Meetings
The District conducted extensive community outreach to hear from the community on the proposed recommendations.
In December, the District hosted 4 citywide Facilities Master Plan Meetings where Dr. Hite and other District leadership presented their recommendations to provide a safer, higher-performing and better-run system.
In January, the District hosted nine Facilities Master Plan Community Meetings across the city to provide parents and community stakeholders with an opportunity to learn more about the recommendations, ask questions, and share input. To review the January meeting schedule, please click here.
In February, District leadership visited school communities where further input on the recommendations was needed. These meetings were held in smaller settings designed as roundtable discussions. To review the February meeting schedule, please click here.
In total, more than 5,000 people attended the meetings and hundreds more watched on the District’s website and cable channel.
The District also held meetings at M. Hall Stanton Elementary School, and Dimner Beeber Middle School after they were added to the list of schools recommended for closure.
