Welcome to the Office of Design & Construction

As part of the Office of Capital Programs, Design & Construction provides the resources and expertise to plan, design, and construct projects approved by the School Reform Commission (SRC) within the Capital Improvement Plan. Composed of school district employees and partnering firms, Design & Construction executes all the steps to successfully complete a projects throughout the city.

The Office of Design and Construction is comprised of three departments, each is responsible for specific pieces of a project. 

• Design Management - initates the steps of designing and generating work to be performed
• Construction Management - implements the designs
• Contracts Management - manages the contracts and finances

Current Projects

Penrose / Motivational High School Addition		George Washington Carver High School Renovation / Addition
A new gym addition will be built between Penrose ES and Motivational HS.  This project is in design.		The new addition well contain a gym & fitness center, cafeteria & full-service kitchen and a natural resource lab with greenhouse.
Audienreid High School New Construction		Fels High School New Construction
The Audienreid High School was demolished several years ago and a new high school is currently in construction.		A new Fels High School is currently being built on the site of the old JFK Hospital.
