  1. What is SAS?
  2. How do I keep students engaged while using Achieve 3000?
  1. What is SAS?

The Pennsylvania Department of Education now has an online resource entitled "Standards Alignment System" (SAS).

At the website you will find materials and resources that include Voluntary Model Curriculum (VMC), incorporating learning progressions, units, lesson plans, and content resources aligned to the Pennsylvania standards in curriculum frameworks for the four content areas included in the Keystone Exams (mathematics, science, social studies, reading-writing-speaking-listening). Enter in keywords and select a subject and grade level or course to find related materials and resources.

  2. How do I keep students engaged while using Achieve 3000?
Achieve 3000 has built-in motivations that challenge students.
    • The Avatar and the point system give you numerous ways to recognize and challenge individual students and groups of students.
    • You may want to share reading levels with students to motivate them to improve.
    • Use the classroom charts to keep records of completed work and correct score percentages.
