Welcome to Career and Technical Education
The mission of the Office of Career and Technical Education (CTE) is to deliver the highest quality CTE programs that provide students with the opportunity to acquire challenging academic and technical skills, and thus, be prepared for the high-skill, high-wage, and high-priority occupations of a competitive 21st century global economy.
The Office of Career and Technical Education is the central coordinating office for the 120+ CTE programs that are currently being offered in 30+ high schools in our District. CTE Programs prepare students with the academic and technical knowledge needed to be successful in college and career. The Office of CTE is committed to excellence in providing the best education for our students. We offer CTE Programs in over 40+ occupational areas, allowing students to acquire both technical (hands-on) and academic skills. Students are trained using state-of-the-art equipment and under the watchful eye of industry professionals.
In selecting to enroll in a CTE Program, students have an opportunity to receive training in a specific career pathway in one of the following career areas:
- Communication
- Information Technology
- Business/Finance
- Culinary Arts
- Construction Trades
- Health
- Transportation
- Cosmetology
- Fashion Design
All of the CTE programs in the District offer industry-recognized certifications, and operate in compliance with state and national CTE standards. Lastly, students who successfully complete CTE Programs have the opportunity to earn up to twelve (12) free college credits in participating colleges and universities throughout Pennsylvania.
