New Construction, Building Additions, Rehabilitations and Acquisitions

Included are the costs associated with site purchases, architectural fees, surveys, construction contracts, construction management, furniture and equipment for new buildings, additions and annex buildings. Acquired facilities may also include the cost of needed renovations.
 

Environmental Management and Services

Included are the costs for remediation of potential hazardous conditions such as asbestos, toxic chemicals, lead in water and regulated underground storage tanks.
 

Alterations and Improvements

Encompasses a variety of projects including, but not limited to, roof, door and window replacements; water delivery systems and lavatory modernizations; heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC); science labs, relighting, new flooring, elevators, fire alarms, cooling towers and chillers; emergency generators, ADA modifications and support services.
 

Major Building Renovations

Included are the large scale modernization projects at existing schools. Projects budgets include related design costs, construction management fees, construction contracts and furniture and equipment.

Equipment Acquisition

Included are the replacement costs for the District’s bus, truck, van and automobile fleet. This category also includes the budget for hardware and infrastructure wiring to support instructional and administrative informational technology (IT).

Other Financing Uses

Included are the routine fees and expenses associated with the issuance of general obligation bonds and other means of financing.
