Capital Projects is comprised of both departments and services. Capital is extensive, but works to take an idea or need and make it a reality. Teamwork, communication, and a wealth of experience combine to make a successful framework in order to implement a Capital Improvement Program and better the School District.
- The staff within Capital Projects works with other departments and interested parties to identify a Long Range Plan (LRP) and generate a Capital Improvement Program (CIP). These are generated through extensive planning and analysis of existing data and criteria.
- The CIP identifies scheduling and costs associated with each project.
- PlanCon reviews the projects and works with the state for funding.
- The staff with Community Outreach work with the different stakeholders, including the local community, and ensures all concerns are answered.
- The Design Management team works on the architectural and engineering design of the project.
- Environmental is consulted for any hazardous concerns and takes appropriate action if necessary.
- The Construction Management team takes the project from design and begins the construction phase. Management of the project continues through to completion.
- Contracts Management handles all invoices and change orders associated with the project.
- Grade and Space Planning ensues that the project takes into account the educational aspect as well as manages the purchase and distribution of furniture.
- The Financial Management team tracks the overall expenditures and staffing requirements.
- The Geographic Information System (GIS) provides an efficient method for performing analysis and greatly assists in data driven decision-making process.
