Policies & ProceduresPolicies & ProceduresRequesting Data
The Office of Accountability provides numerous data reports to many constituencies, including central and regional office staff, schools, universities, and to the public. Within the Office of Accountability, the Office of Assessment reports results for the District's standardized assessments as well as providing duplicate reports of previously distributed data to schools and regional offices. The Office of Accountability analyzes test results and produces reports, based on these test results, provides data to the Pennsylvania Department of Education for mandated reports, and honors data requests from a wide-range of constituencies. Over the last five years, both offices have experienced an increased demand for "raw" data and data reports and analyses, due largely to the NCLB accountability provisions and the related use of data for making curricular and instructional decisions. As a result of the increased demand, the Office of Accountability has developed a single protocol for requesting data that is not already available on the District's website or from other sources, e.g., Pennsylvania Department of Education website. How to Request Information Before making the request, please be certain that the data you are requesting is not already available on the District's website: School Profiles. In addition, the public can access the Pennsylvania Department of Education's website, which contains an application that reports current results related to No Child Left Behind/Adequate Yearly Progress for all schools in Philadelphia as well as for all schools and districts in Pennsylvania ( http://paayp.emetric.net/ ). District principals also have access to both SchoolNet and the Grow Network, both rich sources of student- and school-level data. If the data you need is not available from the sources identified above, or from other sources, complete the data request form. Please note that the decision to honor a request will be based on the appropriateness of the request, the feasibility of, and resources needed to produce the data report, as well as the intended use of its results. For requests from outside organizations or from individuals that require substantial amounts of staff time and resources, a charge for the service will be negotiated.
